Why you can Switch & Save with daysoft.
Research by Christopher Kerr, independent optometrist.
When Johnson & Johnson put their contact lenses prices up by 25% to UK Opticians it was time for Chris Kerr, a leading UK practitioner and (2006) President of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA), to take action. Research in which he participated with CIBA clinicians showed that they were able to switch wearers from J&Js 1-day Acuvue to to CIBA Focus Dailies
with a 99% success rate
This 'switchability' was shown to be possible despite these two lenses having:
* different materials
* different diameters
* different manufacturing processes
* different edge shapes
* two base curves for J&J but only one for CIBA and
* UV blocking in J&J but not in CIBA.
The above research was published as a Poster at the May 2002 Conference of the British Contact lens Association.
Earlier work on 'switching'
However, extensive research a decade earlier had already shown that 'switching' to contact lenses worn on a daily disposable basis was hugely successful in improving wearer comfort and in improving the health of the cornea even for wearers who had previously had to 'drop-out' from contact lens wear because of complications.
Research based on daysoft-direct's unique ordering and supply system.
Our own work takes the above research even further. We have analysed no fewer than the results of:
1 million lenses 'brand-switched'
By making daily disposable contact lenses truly affordable we have liberated wearers from the risks of non-compliance and allergic reactions to cleaning solutions whilst providing outstanding comfort and convenience; that's why we can say;
"Switch & Save with daysoft"
And now B&L report 'switchability'
The new lens launched by B&L is a 59% material and their tests show that it can be switched into with, again, a 99% success rate from their 74% one-day lens version.
